BBL Advertising has won the public relations account of Fairchild Semiconductor after a review.

As a result, the small shop in Acton, Mass., specializing in technology accounts, plans to open a second office in Silicon Valley, according to agency president Barbara Sabran. Even though the electronics supplier is headquartered in South Portland, Maine, a couple of its larger divisions are in Santa Clara, Calif., necessitating the additional office.

Fairchild was relaunched in January when certain product lines were bought from National Semiconductor by a private group of investors.

BBL is also looking to add a public relations executive with investor relations experience to augment the Fairchild team headed up by public relations director Paul Hughes.
