Paul Matheson, former planning director for the Asia-Pacific region of Ogilvy & Mather, is joining BBDO in New York as co-director of behavioral planning for North America. Matheson, who starts Nov. 8, succeeds Tracy Lovatt, who’ll shift to run a new BBDO offering, an agency representative said. Matheson spent six years at WPP Group’s Ogilvy before leaving in September. Before that, he was a top planner at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, working in both London and New York. At Omnicom Group’s BBDO, he’ll report to regional chairman David Lubars and regional deputy chairman Troy Ruhanen.
