DETROIT BBDO Detroit has hired former J. Walter Thompson executive Tom Luke for a new top-level position at the agency focusing on creative strategy, sources said.

BBDO employees were told about Luke’s arrival in an internal memo Wednesday, sources said. Agency representatives could not be reached for comment.

Luke will serve as executive vice president and creative strategic planning director and will report to Bill Morden, vice chairman and chief creative officer at the Troy, Mich.,
