NEW YORK — Kara Lazarus has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president, director of Bates’ National Broadcast Buying Group.

Lazarus replaces Rosemarie Ombres, who moved to the West Coast, a spokeswoman said. Lazarus joined Bates as an assistant network buyer on the Wendy’s International account in 1992. She left in 1994 to join Zenith Media, a Bates’ sibling under Cordiant Communications, as national broadcast supervisor.

In 1997, Lazarus returned to Bates as associate national broadcast director, and the next year was promoted to vice president, working primarily on the Wendy’s International account.
