Bailey Gardiner to Promote Downtown San Diego

LOS ANGELES A newly formed organization dedicated to promoting downtown San Diego has selected local agency Bailey Gardiner for an advertising effort that will position the area as “the ideal location to live, work and play.”

Downtown San Diego Partnership created the Downtown Residential Marketing Alliance (DRMA) to encourage local and prospective residents to consider the area a good place to live. The dual focus on promoting the area for both residential and commercial purposes is described by the agency as “a first for any major metropolitan city nationwide.”

DRMA was formed as a co-operative to help market the estimated 9,000 vacant housing units in the area, the agency said.

“Participating members of DRMA are not focused on competing against one another for future home buyers,” said an agency representative. “Instead, they are sharing marketing dollars, ideas and information to present the city as a great choice for buyers.”

Billings were not disclosed.

Bailey Gardiner, which was formed in 1995, also handles advertising for House of Blues, Tiffany & Co., the San Diego Association of Government, Shear Homes and W Hotels.
