Hansel and Gretel find a new way to get home in this AT&T spot from BBDO. Here instead of being abandoned in the woods, they are shuttled off to New York City via the subway. Holding hands, the children stare up at the towering buildings above them, and Gretel diligently trails their journey with breadcrumbs. As in the classic fable, the crumbs of course disappear, here due to hungry pigeons and sewer grates. Even though we miss the best part of the tale, when the kids make their great escape from the witch trying to cook Hansel by trapping her in her own oven, the spot, directed by Noam Murro, is a charming update.
