Arnold’s Riordan Moves South

ATLANTA Karen Riordan has moved from the Boston headquarters of Havas’ Arnold to the shop’s McLean, Va., office as executive vice president of account management, a new position, the agency said.

Riordan, 42, will also work directly with two of the office’s top accounts, Choice Hotels and Amtrak.

She joined Arnold in 1996 as account manager on the shop’s Hartford Insurance account. From 2000 to 2002, she led the Arnold Direct unit, working with Royal Caribbean and Volkswagen. Most recently, she led the repositioning of the Celebrity Cruises brand.

Before joining Arnold, Riordan was director of marketing communications for Florists Transworld Delivery (FTD). While there, she managed the company’s relationship with multiple advertising, public relations and direct mail shops, in addition to catalog and collateral support.

Riordan also worked as director of account management at the former Pagano Schenck & Kay in Boston, where she managed the Dexter Shoe, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Data General, Progress Software and Eastland Bank accounts. At Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulous in Boston, she worked on the John Hancock Financial Services account, including the 1994 Winter Olympic Games campaign, “Real life. Real answers.”
