Arnold Names Riordan Va. President

BOSTON Havas’ Arnold today said it has elevated Karen Riordan to president of its office in McLean, Va. She had been executive director of the 100-person outpost of the Boston-based shop.

Fran Kelly, CEO of Arnold’s national operations, praised Riordan’s overall leadership, noting the office’s recent win of the Bahamas’ tourism business and its retention of the Amtrak account in a review this summer as key factors in her promotion.

Riordan has served at Arnold for 12 years, mainly in the Boston headquarters office, in various operations and client-service roles. She relocated to McLean two years ago. In November 2006, she replaced Ken Umansky as the leader of that office.

Woody Kay, CCO in McLean, called Riordan “one of the best managers in the business, a great partner and collaborator.”

Other clients of Arnold in McLean include Choice Hotels, McDonald’s, Colonial Williamsburg, USA Today, Trex and Children’s National Medical Center.
