Arnold Broadens Scope With Newspaper

BOSTON Arnold said it has expanded its relationship with USA Today, adding public relations duties for the national daily newspaper.

The Havas-owned shop here already worked for the client on brand strategy projects and will soon kick off the newspaper’s 25th anniversary campaign.

“We are very pleased to partner with Arnold in what promises to be an exciting and quite active 25th anniversary year for USA Today,” said Ed Cassidy, client vp, communications and event marketing.

The newspaper, which claims 2.3 million daily readers, had not previously worked with a lead PR shop. Upcoming efforts will target consumers and industry trades, the agency said.

Arnold last week was named one of two finalists for the $150 million creative account of Volvo. It is competing against Publicis Groupe’s Fallon in Minneapolis. A decision is expected in two weeks.
