Arnold Brand Promotions Elevates Pair

BOSTON Havas’ Arnold said it has named Michael Carey and Mary McLaughlin directors of its brand promotions division.

Arnold Brand Promotions takes world-class creative across the line and brings it to life with sponsorships, events and word-of-mouth promotions to answer many of our clients’ marketing challenges,” said Fran Kelly, president of Boston-based Arnold.

Carey, formerly svp, group account director, has spent seven years at the shop, working on many of its key clients, such as Celebrity Cruises, Citizens Bank and Hasbro.

McLaughlin, formerly vp, group account director, has been at the agency four years and led promotional tours and sponsorship activities on former client Volkswagen of America. More recently she oversaw Ocean Spray’s “Bog Across America” tour.

The agency unit employs about 25 staffers.

Carey and McLaughlin take up duties that had been handled by Beth Rice, who is no longer with the agency. Rice intends to start her own nontraditional marketing agency with an emphasis on promotions, working with clients and agencies to integrate promotions programs into their branding efforts.
