Amica Insurance Rates 4 Finalists

BOSTON Amica Insurance is considering four finalists in a review for its estimated $15-20 million ad account, with a decision slated to come before month’s end, according to sources.

The Lincoln, R.I.-based client has heard final presentations from incumbent Cossette Post in New York; Cronin & Co. in Glastonbury, Conn.; Partners + Simons in Boston; and Re:Think Group of Stamford, Conn., sources said.

The three New England shops are independently owned; Cossette Post is a unit of Cossette Communication of Quebec City. Cossette Post has handled the Amica business for the past four years.

The contenders either declined comment or referred calls to the client. Amica representatives did not immediately return calls.

Recent Amica marketing efforts have used the themeline “We keep our promises to you,” and have included print and broadcast executions. The client offers home, life and auto insurance.

The client spent $9 million on ads last year and $6 million through August, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. Amica has told review participants spending would likely top $15 million next year, sources said.
