BOSTON Allstate has placed its public relations account into review, the company confirmed.

The Northbrook, Ill.-based insurance giant has received responses to a request for information and will choose a list of agencies to participate in a review set to conclude by the end of the year, according to Allstate representative Michael Trevino. Trevino declined to say how many agencies would be involved or when the list would be narrowed down.

For the past three years, Allstate, the country’s second-largest car and homes insurer behind State Farm Insurance, has handled public relations through WPP Group’s Hill & Knowlton in Chicago.
