Apartment listing and renter’s resource is in the final stages of a review to find its first agency to handle a $5-10 million national ad account.
The San Francisco-based company has narrowed its list of contenders to Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners in San Francisco and Butler, Shine & Stern in Sausalito, Calif., according to Sophia Cabler, the company’s vice president of marketing. A decision is expected this week.
Swirl and Black Rocket were among the other Bay Area shops that presented over the last two weeks.
The client decided not to ask for speculative creative work in order to speed up the process, said sources.
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was invited to the review, said sources, due to its connection with’s strategic partner, Wired Digital’s search engine Hotbot, but chose not to participate.
The company is planning to launch an offline campaign in February, possibly to reposition the brand as “AveryStreet.” The client also wants its new agency to develop an extensive online campaign.
The branding effort, which will most likely include print, outdoor and broadcast ads, will be targeted primarily toward single men and women aged 18-39 who are willing to use the Internet as a relocation tool.
Founded last year, is a free-to-consumer Web site service that posts millions of property listings in more than 5,000 U.S. cities. Visitors can view properties and access relocation resources and services.
