All-Star Lineup

PNC Bank’s search for a new creative and media partner is down to three shops, and Adweek readers might call the review a battle of the agencies of the year.
Still in the running: Deutsch, New York; Mullen, Wenham, Mass.; and W.B. Doner & Co., Southfield, Mich. Each gets a creative assignment this week, with presentations set for later this month and a decision expected by the end of February.
Last week, Deutsch was named national agency of the year, 1998 [Adweek, Jan. 25]. Mullen was the magazine’s New England agency of the year and Doner its top Midwestern shop.
PNC incumbents Ketchum Advertising, Pittsburgh, and McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C. were cut. Pittsburgh-based PNC is working with a consultant, Richard Roth Associates in Chappaqua, N.Y. -Andrew McMains
