NEW MEXICOA campaign for Santa Fe (N.M.) County from Rick Johnson & Co. was named Best of the Best by the New Mexico Chapter of the American Marketing Association at its 14th annual Marketer of the Year Awards. The Albuquerque agency also won awards for other campaigns on behalf of Dean's Premium Ice Cream, the New Mexico Department of Tourism and the New Mexico Traffic Safety Bureau. Submitted work must demonstrate creative performance of marketing strategies and techniques and show results were achieved. McKee Wallwork Henderson of Albuquerque has been named lead agency for Independent Mobility Systems, which manufactures lowered-floor minivans for people with disabilities. The agency will assist the local client with next summer's launch of the new Toyota Sienna, the first imported minivan available in this market, the shop said. Billings are undisclosed. Mc- Kee won the account in a review with undisclosed contenders. TEXASCreative Civilization has been named the lead agency for the Animal Defense League of San Antonio. The San Antonio agency won the account following a review with undisclosed regional contenders. Billings are undisclosed. Creative Civilization will initially handle public relations support for the shelter that cares for abandoned cats and dogs.Fellers Group of Austin has launched a temporary exhibit for the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. The shop's campaign for the Country Music From the Lone Star State exhibit uses in-theater advertising, radio and television to highlight Texas' contributions to country music. In one spot, Asleep at the Wheel's Ray Benson's song, "Miles and Miles of Texas," plays as the artist discusses music milestones. The campaign runs in Austin.The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault has extended its contract with Weber Shandwick of Irving beyond the research phase of its statewide awareness campaign, which the agency won in 2001. Weber will now handle the development and implementation of the Austin-based organization's sexual-assault awareness campaign. Sister Interpublic Group shop Temerlin McClain in Irving has been selected to develop print and broadcast ads to complement the effort.GCG has become the lead agency of Coronado Builders in Fort Worth following a review against local contenders. Motivators in Houston has added Build Your Own Home in Magnolia and Bayou City Bolt of Houston as clients.The Richards Group has been hired as lead agency for Grand Prairie-based Husky Trash Bags, a unit of Poly-America.
