Chapura, a software development company, has named Lewis Communications in Mobile its lead agency.


In Miami, Nancy Rice, a co-founder and principal of the former Fallon McElligott Rice, has joined the Miami Ad School as chief creative officer.

Jumbo Green has acquired the creative account of The Early Childhood Initiative. The Miami agency will work on the “Teach more. Love more” advertising campaign in conjunction with Hispanic shop Imagen, based in Coral Gables. Billings are estimated at $2-3 million.

Gold & Associates in Ponte Vedra Beach has been included in the international Creative 30, published by HarperCollins. Material chosen to appear in the book includes a poster created for PBS, an interactive press kit promoting St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra tourism and music packaging for AOL Time Warner.

In Jacksonville, St. John & Partners Advertising & Public Relations has been awarded two Henry awards and two finalist citations from the Florida Commission on Tourism, a result of its efforts for the Amelia Island Tourism Development Council.

In Sarasota, Marketing By Design has been hired by FCCI Insurance Group. The client, headquartered in Lakewood Ranch, provides property and casualty insurance.

The Dalton Agency in Jacksonville has signed four accounts totaling $2.5 million in billings. The clients are: ATS Professional Services, an executive recruitment firm; OAIC Jacksonville, commercial real estate investors; Naturize BioSciences, a manufacturer of agricultural enzymes; and Snap Facts, a software application provider for interactive television.

Massey Person Brinati Communications in Orlando has added Farmer Baker Barrios Architects and the local office of accounting firm KPMG to its client roster.

An illustration for the spring 2000 Bal Harbour Catalog, created by artist Anja Kroencke for Miami’s Image Factory, was chosen for the cover of the latest issue of Communication Arts Magazine. The work was also selected to appear in Print’s Regional Design Annual 2001.

William Harris Advertising in Boca Raton has been designated lead agency by NetByTel. The shop will be responsible for advertising and collateral development for the software applications provider. NetByTel is also based in Boca Raton.

General Plumbing has retained The Boner Group to develop a brand positioning campaign that will include creative, strategic planning and media buying services. The client and agency are both located in West Palm Beach.


Two GodwinGroup advertising campaigns, developed for the Mississippi Valley Gas Company, earned the Jackson shop seven awards in the annual Utility Communications International competition.


CarterTodd & Associates has been retained as the lead public relations agency for Verian Technologies, a Charlotte, N.C.-based procurement technology provider. The Columbia agency has held the account for three consecutive years.


Bohan Carden & Cherry in Nashville has formed North Star, a travel marketing consulting subsidiary. North Star will target small and medium-size travel destinations that typically cannot afford to hire a full-time agency.
