ARIZONA Outdoor Services opened an office in Scottsdale, specializing in planning and buying out-of-home media. Alpern Ad-Hoc, Scottsdale, added two new accounts, Barcley-White BreastNet, a multidisciplinary breast health center in Phoenix, and Indian Health Services of Arizona, Nevada and Utah, a regional comprehensive healthcare services program. COLORADO DNA Advertising, Denver, recently added clients including the new Access Communications, Community College Consortium, USAirport and TDVantage. Worldwide Partners, Denver, named four new partners: Caballero & Associates in Advertising, Manila, Philippines; Creaco Publicidad, Caracas, Venezuela; Mark Russell & Associates, Syracuse, N.Y.; and Remark, Bratislava, Slovakia. Karsh & Hagan Communications in Denver was named agency of record for Prime Response, a provider of database marketing applications. HAWAII The Schiller Group, Honolulu, has expanded its services to include newly created division TSG Retail. Its clients include Foodland Super Market and Saturn of Honolulu. NEVADA Bayer Brown Forsythe & Ernaut, Reno, an integrated marketing and communications agency, was named agency of record for Meadowood Mall, also in Reno. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Grey Advertising, San Francisco, added Boston-based Xtra International, an international transportation equipment leasing company, to its client roster. The Delaney Group, a full-service integrated communications firm in Alameda, added ADI Systems to its client list. Consensus Health, a San Francisco-based startup company, has selected Addis Group, a marketing and design firm in Berkeley, to create its identity. OREGON Harris Massey Herinckx, Portland, was chosen by The Old Spaghetti Factory and by Fred Meyer to handle summer projects. North By Northwest Direct, Portland, has changed its name to North By Northwest Advertising to reflect its expansion into a full-service operation. The Hallock Agency, Portland, has changed its name to Hallock Modey Advertising and Public Relations. The change reflects the increased business involvement of Barbara Modey, vice president/director of client services. Sandstrom Design, Portland, was selected by ESPN in New York to develop the complete graphics package and personality for its 1998 trade show booth. Columbia Sportswear awarded European creative responsibilities to its longtime U.S. agency, Borders, Perrin & Norrander in Portland. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NBC Television Network has renewed its contract with Horizon Media in Los Angeles for media buying and local in-market promotions throughout the U.S. Public Communications/West, Santa Fe Springs, has just completed three projects for Memtek Products, marketer of the Memorex and Dysan brands. RiechesBaird in Irvine was awarded the advertising, marketing and public relations account of Jadtec Security Services. Jeffrey Alec Communications, West Los Angeles, was retained by J.D. Power and Associates to create collateral materials promoting the International Automotive Roundtable and by Gift Source West-Las Vegas for an advertising and direct mail campaign. Roni Hicks & Associates, San Diego, has changed its name to Roni Hicks & DeVries to reflect the role of new president and chief executive officer Henry DeVries. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses selected Buz Design Group, Los Angeles, to develop logos and print promotional work for the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game in 1999 and 2000. Drasnin Communications, Del Mar, was selected by San Diego Eye Center and Superior Planning to provide a variety of public relations and advertising services. Szenderski/Rohani & Partners in Irvine has struck an advertising and marketing deal valued at $2.2 million with regional mortgage banking firm Tricor Mortgage Lending in Huntington Beach. Western International Media, Los Angeles, won media planning and buying responsibilities for democrat Al Checchi's gubernatorial campaign in California. The McRae Agency, San Diego, was retained by Nextel Communications to provide marketing communications, promotions coordination and special event planning for the San Diego area. R&D Laboratories, Marina del Rey, named BGM Health Communications, Los Angeles, as its advertising agency. Direct Partners in Santa Monica has opened Direct Partners Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary in Toronto, to service its Canadian clients and pursue new business. Real Marketing Services, a subsidiary of San Diego-based Real Entertainment, has agreed to acquire the assets and business of Carlsbad-based First Class Marketing. MoiselleHochman of Century City has won two new accounts: Del Mar-based Beverage Source Worldwide and Dunn-Edwards Paints & Wallcoverings in Los Angeles. RNF Media in Beverly Hills will handle media planning and strategy. The Electronic Retailing Association named the Encino office of SSA Public Relations as its media relations agency. UTAH Scopes-Garcia-Carlisle Advertising and Public Relations in Salt Lake City was selected as agency of record for select Gold's Gym facilities in Utah. WASHINGTON McKnight & Co., Bellevue, added Pro Sports Club, Cegelec ESCA Corporation and Pacific Financial Services Corp. to its list of Eastside clients. Hubcap, a creative design/editorial unit serving advertising agencies nationally and regionally, has opened in Seattle under the aegis of Pinnacle Studios. Weber Marketing Group, Seattle, was named agency of record for Horizon Bank and Pacific Bank. Animal care group PAWS of Bainbridge Island hired Voice Advertising and Marketing in Seattle to help launch a new biannual fundraising event. Medallion Foods hired JayRay Ads & Public Relations, Seattle, to help promote its quality food products. Seattle-based Tim Girvin Design created a new brand identity for Cinnabon bakeries.
