Lewis & Associates, Birmingham, is marking its 45th anniversary this year. FLORIDA Alliance Marketing Group in Singer Island has been awarded media buying and creative consultation responsibilities for Palm Tran, Palm Beach County's transit system. Blue Fin Yachts, a maker of sport fishing boats, has named Clarke Advertising & Public Relations, Sarasota, its agency. Maizner & Franklin in Fort Lauderdale has been selected by the Jamaica Tourist Board to handle public relations and promotions. The work will appear in 10 Southeastern states and Puerto Rico. Robin Shepherd Studios, Jacksonville, has changed its name to The Robin Shepherd Group, reflecting its evolution from design firm to full-service agency. St. John & Partners in Jacksonville has been named to handle marketing for the Florida Times-Union, also in Jacksonville. The review involved two other undisclosed agencies. Altimax Advertising Agency, New Port Richey, has added two new accounts: Linsey Eyecare and Dental Health Services. First Marketing Group International in Orlando was retained as agency of record for the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Media Direct, headquartered in New Orleans, has opened a service office in Orlando. The Florida outpost gives the agency five U.S. offices. Daniels and Roberts in Boca Raton has been selected to work with Blue Lake Corporate Center, also in Boca Raton. LevLane Advertising and Public Relations in Tallahassee has been awarded more regional business from KFC. GEORGIA Business Edition Network, a 13-year-old Atlanta company specializing in relationship marketing, has changed its name to point b. Emory University has tapped Knapp Inc. in Atlanta for a project to strengthen the school's institutional identity program. Crawford Communications, an Atlanta post-production and visual arts facility, has chosen Huey/Paprocki, also in Atlanta, to handle advertising. Atlanta-based Grizzard has opened an office in Washington, D.C. Images USA in Atlanta has landed two accounts from the Centers for Disease Control: an AIDS educational program aimed at minorities and a prostate cancer awareness series for African American males. The Referendum Group, a new political strategy and campaign management firm, has opened its headquarters in Atlanta and an office in Washington, D.C. MARYLAND Lassalle Altschul Advertising Public Relations in Baltimore has acquired three new accounts: Eastern Resorts, Citizens Bank & Trust Co., and Cigarette Depot. NORTH CAROLINA Johnson & Beacham Advertising in Raleigh was appointed advertising and public relations agency of record for IllumElex Corp. The North Carolina Association of Physicians Assistants has placed its advertising account with Peter Taflan Marketing Communications in Durham. Lewis Advertising in Rocky Mount has won the ad account of Royster-Clark, a retailer of agricultural products. Coyne Beahm in Colfax will relocate its offices to the Airport Center in Greensboro this spring. The agency also has an office in New York. Bolt in Charlotte recently completed a retail environmental design for Phillips-Van Heusen. SOUTH CAROLINA Phillips & Goot in Greenville was named agency for Emergent Business Capital. The Lewis Corp. was designated to handle Web site development for the Greenwood Development Corp. Rawle-Murdy Associates in Charleston has won the advertising business of the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. TENNESSEE Grogan's Country Sausage and French Lick Springs Resort have placed their advertising with Ericson Marketing Communications in Nashville. TileCera, a ceramic tile manufacturer in Clarksville, has signed Gish, Sherwood & Friends in Nashville to provide public relations support. The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport has placed its marketing and ad account with The Johnson Group in Chattanooga. VIRGINIA The Hawthorn Group has moved from Washington, D.C., to 1199 North Fairfax St., Suite 1000, Alexandria 22314. The new phone numbers are: (703) 299-4499 (office) and (703) 299-4488 (fax). Barker Campbell Farley & Mansfield in Virginia Beach has opened an account service office in Richmond. The facility will be staffed by Kenneth Stroupe Jr. and Julie Kay Rautio Overy. Avalon Beverage Co. has placed its ad account at Barber Martin & Associates. The client's Imported Avalon Natural Spring Water represents the bulk of the business. Edelmann Scott in Richmond won one regional and four silver awards at the National Association of Homebuilders competition for its Dominion Land Management, Waverly and Avery Green work. Reed Advertising and Public Relations in Richmond was designated agency of record for the Vernon Valley Great Gorge Ski Resort in Vernon, N.J. Meridian Group-Marketing Communications in Virginia Beach won 11 Adrian Advertising awards and a Golden Bell Public Relations prize from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. The awards honored the shop's work for the Madison, Clift and Ambassador West Hotels, Wild Dunes Resort, Georgian Terrace, Grand Heritage Hotels, Grand Pavilion, Kingston Plantation, Norfolk International Airport and Kingsmill Resort. WASHINGTON, D.C. MedOptions, a Silver Spring, Md., company that specializes in computer searches of peer-reviewed medical literature, has retained The Bomstein Agency for advertising and Web development. Separately, Bomstein was named to handle radio and transit advertising for Money Tree Funding. For the fifth consecutive year, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey has enlisted MAYA Advertising & Communications to promote its bilingual performances.
