DDB Worldwide, New York, has expanded Kid Think, the U.S. youth-marketing-consulting business operated by DDB’s New York- and London-based youth-specialty agency, Griffin Bacal. Kid Think Inc. International will be launched in 16 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Past Kid Think clients have included Pepsi, McDonald’s, Frito-Lay, Lipton, Veryfine and General Mills.
Hard Hats has created a subway campaign for Planned Parenthood of New York City. The New York agency created ads with the headline, “Is your body Y2K compliant?” to remind women to take a proactive approach to their reproductive healthcare.
2 Guys Who Do Ads, New York, has been hired as the first advertising agency for StocksAtBottom.com. The Westport, Conn.-based client researches and recommends undervalued stocks to individual investors. 2 Guys will develop national TV and print ads, as well as regional print, radio and outdoor campaigns, beginning early next year. Spending is $10 million.
Sanna Mattson MacLeod in Smithtown has created an advertising and promotional campaign to introduce Eli Lilly’s rDNA Glucagon product for gastrointestinal radiology to the diagnostic-imaging market. The campaign includes print ads in medical journals, trade-show displays and product brochures.
Palio Communications has been tapped by Cephalon to handle advertising for Provigil. The Saratoga Springs agency will promote the West Chester, Pa.-based pharmaceutical company’s drug, which treats excessive daytime sleepiness that is associated with narcolepsy.
New York public relations firm KWE Associates has added three clients. KWE will position The Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, Va., as a leisure and meetings destination; it will lead a branding effort on behalf of The Aspen Club, a fitness and sports-medicine facility in Colorado; and it will launch Home magazine’s redesign.
BSMG Worldwide, New York, has been named the public relations agency for Creative Leisure International, a Sonoma, Calif.-based company that develops customized-vacation programs at luxury villas, private homes and resorts. The firm will handle media relations, marketing alliances and online public relations.
Publicis Dialog/LobsenzStevens, New York, has been named the public relations agency for Blue Barn Interactive, a New York new-media firm that specializes in relationship marketing and online-membership building.
NEW JERSEY
DVC has been named Agency of the Decade by Promo magazine. The Morristown shop was selected based on five criteria: significant and sustained growth, strong creative work, a portfolio of strategic brand work, agency-of-record assignments for marquee clients, and a record of innovative promotions programs.
Ribotsky Worldwide has won several new accounts. NABI hired the Somerset shop to represent Aloprim, an injectable allopurinol for patients on chemotherapy. Nycomed Amersham tapped Ribotsky to handle four brands: OncoSeed I-125, RapidStrand, Metastron and Ceretec.
ConvaTec hired the agency to handle global brand imaging for brands including AquaCel, Multidress, Hyalofill, DuoDerm and several new products. Finally, BD assigned Ribotsky to work on several campaigns for its prefilled syringes.
Gianettino & Meredith, Short Hills, has been tapped by Fujitsu General America in Fairfield to provide both advertising and public relations. A subsidiary of Fujitsu General, the client manufactures LCD projectors and flat-screen plasma-TV monitors.
TMP Worldwide in Mount Olive has been tapped by Delta Machinery to implement its direct-response and rebate programs.
PENNSYLVANIA
Tierney & Partners in Philadelphia has been tapped by Sunoco to handle advertising duties for the Northeast region. The agency won the business following a review, in which it topped incumbent The Weightman Group and The Brownstein Group, both in Philadelphia. Sunoco sent requests for proposals to 10 agencies in the spring and heard final pitches in June. Spending is estimated at $5-10 million.
Flaherty Sabol Carroll Marketing Communications has been selected by Automated Health Systems, a health-management corporation, to promote the Pennsylvania Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment Program. Agency and client are both based in Pittsburgh. Flaherty Sabol Carroll has been charged with creating marketing communications, including a logo, brochure and video. The agency was also hired by transportation company Pitt Ohio Express to launch its nationwide-distribution services. The shop’s assignment includes the creation of brand-positioning concepts, print advertising and collateral materials.
Dudnyk Healthcare Group was tapped by Endo Laboratories to manage the launch of Lidoderm, a pain-management product that delivers analgesia directly to affected nerves. The Horsham agency will develop creative and strategic efforts targeting neurologists and primary-care physicians.
Hanson Associates in Philadelphia has created a strategic-communications program for TradeOut.com, an online business-surplus auction marketplace. Themed, “Where business surplus deals get done,” the campaign includes partnership Web pages, banners, print and radio advertising, direct mail, trade-show displays, and sales literature.
Fusco/Duchi Communications won three awards for work in print media in 1999 from the Harrisburg chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. The State College-based agency won silver awards for its Pennsylvania State University publications, “The History of the College of Education at Penn State” and “Grand Destiny Weekend Package.” Fusco/Duchi also took home a gold award for its invitation to the university’s Grand Destiny Kickoff Celebration event.
Agnew & Corrigan has launched a media buying and planning service, ProMedia. ProMedia will be headed by the Lancaster agency’s media director, Linda Duncan.
LevLane in Bala Cynwyd and its healthcare-marketing unit, MarketShift, have been tapped by International Senior Development to market its senior-living communities. The Jenkintown-based client is currently constructing several facilities, including an independent-living community and two assisted-living units
