Expectations for advertising- and marketing-services M&As remain at last year’s record-high levels, driven largely by growing client demand for full-service agencies, according to the sixth annual survey by AdMedia Partners, a New York investment-banking firm. The survey,
conducted among more than 500 senior executives at leading advertising- and marketing-services companies, found that nearly three out of four companies entered new sectors last year, while 86 percent are considering expanding in at least one of the core advertising- and marketing-services sectors this year. Interest in IPOs is soaring as well, with one in 10 respondents reporting that his or her company will consider going public in 2000. The survey also found that complementing existing business and enhancing revenue/critical mass are still the factors deemed by the greatest number of respondents as very important when considering transactions.
