Fogarty Klein & Partners, Houston, earned the Best of Texas prize for its “Powered by Motorola” campaign at the Lantern Awards sponsored by the Business Marketing Association of Houston. The agency also recently unveiled its first Web site design and development assignment for Tuboscope, an oil field services company in Houston.
R.J. Kolar Advertising, Austin, was hired to develop a marketing communications plan and promotional campaign for a new line of 3M wire connectors. The agency secured the assignment for the company’s Performance Plus line after presenting to 3M executives in Austin. Billings will exceed $500,000.
Balfour College Rings, Austin, selected MC2 in Austin as its agency of record. The shop will create a new branding campaign, which will include print advertising and direct mail.
Hadeler Sullivan & Law, Dallas, recently implemented an in-store ad campaign to promote the barbecue sauces of Tony Roma’s. Hadeler works with Dallas-based Romacorp, which operates and franchises 192 Tony Roma’s Famous for Ribs Restaurants worldwide.
The Plaza Group, Houston, a marketer of chemical intermediates and solvents, appointed Brainpower, Houston, its marketing communications agency. Brainpower’s initial assignments include developing corporate and product sales collateral materials and implementing a new corporate identity program.
San Antonio shop Joppie Belken Arters named director of media Feliz Morin a partner. Morin shares the designation with Rick Joppie, Don Belken and Steve Arters. The agency recently celebrated its first anniversary and now employs 10 full-time staffers.
A poster created for the Dallas Theater Center by Eisenberg and Associates, Dallas, was selected for inclusion in the Library of Congress’ permanent design archives.
The Emergency Artists’ Support League designated Phillips, Team & Myers of Fort Worth its agency of record. EASL, also in Fort Worth, is a nonprofit organization supporting visual art professionals in North Texas.
Stuart Bacon, Fort Worth, and its client, the Amon Carter Museum, received an honorable mention in the educational resources category at the American Association of Museums’ annual publications design competition. The award recognized the design of a field journal created for the Fort Worth museum.
