FLORIDA Coral Gables' Samcor Communications has added three new accounts: Coco Pazzo Cafe, a new restaurant; law firm Feldman, Gale & Weber; and dance troupe Hip Hop Kidz. All three clients are based in Miami. Empire Communications Group in Jack-sonville will launch three summer campaigns, whose budgets top $500,000, for: Watson Realty Corp.; Orange Park Medical Center; and the Glades, a new residential development of Cogdill Builders. Certified Diabetic Services of Naples has hired Miami's The Weinbach Group for public relations duties. Miami-based Creative Spanish Group, a first-time entrant, won gold and silver awards at the Builders Association of South Florida Competition. Metropolis Advertising and Design in Orlando has relocated its offices to the city's downtown area. The new address is 23 South Osceola Ave. Spiro & Waites of Fort Myers won three golds among 11 total prizes at the 16th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. The agency also took top honors at the 1999 Image Awards for its work with Riverside Behavioral Center in Charlotte County. GrupoUno International of Coral Cables has opened a New York office. The Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie chose Osprey Marketing Group as its public relations agency. Both are based in Stuart. GEORGIA Hauser Group in Atlanta has been named agency of record for Mrs. Smith's food service, bakery-deli and bakery snacks sales group. Mrs. Smith's is a business unit of Flowers Industries, based in Suwanee. Marietta's Jack & Associates has been named advertising and public relations agency for the Plastic Surgery Center of the South, also based in Marietta. Bigelow & Eigel in Atlanta was appointed agency of record for the city's new Sheraton Atlanta Hotel. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., has selected Cookerly & Company of Atlanta to provide public relations services for its Atlanta properties. Mindpower has been selected to provide communications services and Web site design for lowfruitsearch.com. The Internet venue, which was introduced in May, provides employers and recruiters with a database of qualified personnel. Both companies are based in Atlanta. The agency was also selected by Ring Medical of Nashville, Tenn., to develop a national sales and marketing program. NORTH CAROLINA Charlotte's Sterrett Dymond Stewart has been hired to provide national advertising and marketing for Leafree, a Lynchburg, Va., maker of a roof gutter protection system. The agency also won five Telly Awards, including a pair of silvers (the competition's highest honor), for the advertising it created for Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Richard French & Associates has been awarded the domestic and international travel and tourism public relations account for the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City. The Raleigh shop defeated an undisclosed New York agency. Sonitrol Security Systems has hired Lippi & Co. Advertising to provide strategic planning and marketing. Both companies are located in Charlotte. West & Vaughan in Durham has been named agency of record for women's fashion retailer Uniquities of Chapel Hill without a review. King's English has been hired by NetMCR, an information technology solution provider, for business and consumer advertising accounts. Both firms are located in Greensboro TENNESSEE Knoxville-based Davis Newman Payne Advertising and Marketing Communications has been named agency of record for Nascar SpeedPark, an interactive racing theme park with locations in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sevierville. Ward Archer Jr., president and chief executive officer of Archer/Malmo in Memphis, was named 1999 Marketer of the Year by that city's chapter of the American Marketing Association. VIRGINIA MSI Advertising in Richmond was recognized seven times at the annual Communicator Awards competition. A series of print ads for Mercy Hospitals in Miami won the Crystal Award, the contest's highest honor. The agency also won a Telly Award for a Washington Hospital Center commercial in Washington, D.C.
