KGA Advertising, Middletown, has been tapped by the Connecticut Department of Public Utilities to produce a campaign introducing the concept of power deregulation to consumers statewide. Television, radio, print, outdoor and transit ads are in the works.
The Atlantic Group, Norwalk, has been named agency of record for Arch Chemicals, a Norwalk-based spinoff of Olin Corp. Separately, the shop has created a virtual tour for Perkin-Elmer’s analytical instruments division, also in Norwalk. Offering product specifications and demonstrations, the interactive vehicle allows potential customers to journey through the client’s laboratory facilities.
MASSACHUSETTS
Aigner Associates, a public relations shop in Boston, has been hired by the Boston Red Sox Caravan, a mall-based community outreach program; Simplymodern.com, a Web site offering home and office furniture and accessories; College Coach, an advisory service for high school students and their families; MarkeTVision, a direct response and production firm; the Boston Center for Adult Education; and Yankee Magazine. Aigner also has been selected to create an image campaign for EF Au Pair, the nation’s largest au pair service. The company is most famous for placing Louise Woodward, who last year was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of an infant in her care.
Fassino/Design in Waltham has added the following clients to its roster: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Boston University School of Dental Medicine and the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
Gray & Rice PR in Boston has been hired by Cole Hersee Co., also in Boston, a developer of heavy-duty electrical products.
Barrett Communications in Cambridge has completed collateral projects for SightPath in Waltham, creating a logo, support materials and a Web site for the Internet video startup. In addition, Throughline in Waltham has chosen the agency for corporate identity work.
Boston-based Sharon Merrill Associates has added Alpha Industries, the American Skiing Co. and Quad Systems to its public relations roster.
EPS Communications in Boston has completed a cooperative direct marketing campaign for Adidas and Reflective Technologies. EPS designed and produced a sales and marketing effort including a promotional video to educate retailers and consumer about the safety benefits of running with shoes that incorporate Reflective’s illumiNITE fabric, which provides added visibility in the dark.
Pierce-Cotƒ Advertising in Osterville has been hired by the Community Newspaper Co. in Needham to develop a print and radio campaign launching The Upper Cape Codder, which serves the towns of Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
Eastern Rainbow in Derry and Souhegan Color in Nashua have agreed to merge, forming the state’s largest graphic communications agency. The new entity, with combined sales of $18 million and total staff of 125 people, will continue to operate both locations.
Seacoast Harley-Davidson, North Hampton, has tapped Graphitto, Portsmouth, as its agency of record. The shop is charged with creating a campaign to boost sales of Harley-Davidson clothing and accessories.
Almus & Lee Communications in Nashua has developed a Web site for the New Hampshire Health Care Association. The site (www.nhhca.org) provides information on member facilities and long-term healthcare options.
RHODE ISLAND
Duffy & Shanley in Providence has been named agency of record for the Pawtucket Red Sox, the triple-A International League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Initial efforts will focus on the opening of a renovated McCoy Stadium.
VERMONT
Evergreen Advertising & Marketing in Middlebury has joined the Professional Insurance Marketers Association, which has a membership of 550 insurance marketing professionals and organizations worldwide. Evergreen officials believe joining the group will provided enhanced research, educational and networking opportunities.
