WPI Advertising in New York was awarded the ad account of Crazy Eddie, the defunct consumer electronics retailer that is attempting a comeback. The account will be headed by WPI vice president Harry Spero, formerly the client’s in-house ad director. TV and radio spots will again feature Jerry Carroll, who delivered the “Our prices are insane” line in previous ads. The first new store is set to open in mid-February in Wayne, N.J.
Blum/Herbstreith in New York recently released a humorous TV commercial for Diet Rite cola, the first new national advertising for the client in four years. “Yoga” shows women struggling to exercise, including one who works herself into a pretzel shape. The spot extols the virtues of more relaxed women who simply sit back and enjoy their Diet Rite. “Feel all right” is the tagline.

It’s ThermaCare,” ads portray adults using the heating pads to combat back, knee, neck and arthritis pain, helping them keep promises to loved ones to join in various activities including fishing, beachcombing and riding horses.
