A&G Boosts Efficiency for Ikon

BOSTON Allen & Gerritsen has unveiled its first image work for Ikon Office Solutions since the independent shop won the business last fall.

A print, direct mail and online push launching immediately introduces the positioning line “Document efficiency at work” in an effort to present the Valley Forge, Pa., client as a customer-focused, problem-solving resource.

One ad is headlined, “Before you ask us to change copiers, printers, scanners or fax machines, we’d like to change the way you think about them.”

The media schedule includes business magazines such as CFO, CIO, Fortune and Forbes as well as regional and city publications in select markets.

A&G, a Watertown, Mass. independent, added Ikon in October following a review of undisclosed agencies. Ad spending was about $1 million last year, per CMR, but sources said the budget could top $10 million this year. A&G president Andrew Graff has said Ikon ranks among the agency’s largest accounts.

Ikon sells and leases major-brand office equipment to business and government clients. A&G succeeded Lieber Levett Koenig Farese Babcock on the account.
