In Ad Debut From Via, Uno Is ‘The One’

BOSTON Via’s first work for Uno Restaurant Corp. includes a 30-second TV spot breaking this week with the tagline “The one.”

The commercial from the independent Portland, Maine-based agency shows mostly monochrome restaurant footage and includes a Mod-ish retro-’60s soundtrack from Merge Records artists Imperial Teen. On-screen text informs us, “Only one can be the first. Only one can be the best.” Agency creative chief Greg Smith oversaw campaign development.

Boston-based pizzeria chain Uno has spent approximately $1-2 million in annual measured media in recent years.

While some regional midsize players have struggled, Via has been on a roll of late. In addition to Uno, the agency recently added creative assignments from Boston Beer’s Twisted Tea and the New York Academy of Sciences. The shop also broke new TV spots for the H.P. Hood dairy.
