Turtledove Clemens has been hired to handle marketing, advertising and pr for Commerical Office Machines, also of Portland.
Harris Massey Herinckx will provide pr for Eclipse Technologies, a Portland-based maker of projected laser beam products.
Snedaker Communications Group was chosen to assist Quorum Health Resources in preparing marketing and promotion recommendations for the company’s 257 member hospitals. Nashville, Tenn.-based Quorum, the nation’s largest hospital management services firm, joins several other health-related firms on Snedaker’s client list.
Carl Thompson Associates has added six accounts to its client list, and will provide a mix of investor relations, pr, graphic design and marketing services to the newcomers. The new clients are: Airsensors Inc.; Hathaway Corp.; Interlink Electronics; Swisher International; Wasatch Education Systems; and Western Beef, a New York-based chain of supermarkets.
SANTA BARBARA/WASHINGTON STATE
Bradley Advertising and Design was named agency of record for Toyota of Santa Barbara and the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort, also in Santa Barbara. The Toyota account will involve television, radio and newspaper work. The agency will handle all creative assignments for national and international campaigns and produce collateral material for the Alisal Ranch.
The Silver Co./Seattle was selected to assist the Seattle Supersonics basketball club with public relations. The agency will help identify and communicate business issues for the National Basketball Association franchise.
Floathe Johnson/Kirkland will provide public relations and marketing services to Motion Works of Vancouver, B.C.; Applied Precision in Mercer Island, Wash.; and Humongous Entertainment, Woodinville, Wash. All of the firms are involved in computer-related businesses.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA/SAN DIEGO
Michaels & Co. has been named to oversee creative work for Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the largest holding of Santa Cruz Seaside Co. The agency will develop regional radio and television ads.
Hayes Advertising/San Jose has been hired for branding and retail campaigns for Ramtek Corp. of Sunnyvale, Calif. Ramtek, a manufacturer of electronic data storage systems, recently merged with Mass Microsystems, also of Sunnyvale.
Stock/Alpert & Associates has been hired to produce the San Diego Opera’s 30th anniversary logo and season brochure.
Capener, Matthews & Walcher has been named to handle an ongoing campaign for Mercy Healthcare, overseeing print and broadcast creative assignments, media buying and collateral materials. Mercy Healthcare, a division of Catholic Healthcare West, also operates San Diego Medical Center.
The Roxburgh Agency/Costa Mesa was selected to handle a marketing campaign for PowerTrax, a maker of automotive after-market parts, also in Costa Mesa. The agency is in the process of developing a corporate image campaign and will also handle collateral materials, point-of-purchase merchandising, trade show exhibits, print ads and promotions.
JMPR, with offices in Sacramento and Woodland Hills, Calif., has added the following accounts: Rally’s Hamburgers, Louisville, Ky.; Papaka Sporting Clays, Maui, Hawaii; Essex Racing, Centerbrook, Conn.; and The Auction, a Las Vegas-based auto show firm.
Roddan Public Relations & Advertising/Redondo Beach has acquired four accounts, all real estate developers. Included are The Campanile in Redondo Beach, Rancho La Quinta in La Quinta, Cold Creek in Calabasas and Sherwood in Thousand Oaks. The agency will handle image and retail campaigns in addition to public relations.
The Spindler Organization has been chosen to handle public relations for Dakin Inc., a Woodland Hills, Calif.-based giftware and plush toy maker. The agency’s assignment includes consumer, trade and business media.
New Jersey-based Tyco Toys has hired Huerta Design in Glendale, Calif., to create new domestic packaging for Matchbox brand die-cast cars. Tyco acquired the Matchbox line in 1992 and has since used Huerta for redesigns of packaging for the European market.
