$50 Mil. Dyson Account Goes to BBH

NEW YORK Dyson has selected Publicis Groupe-backed Bartle Bogle Hegarty to handle creative chores on its estimated $50 million U.S. ad account, sources said.

BBH in New York beat out Omnicom Group’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco for the business.

Agency officials either declined comment or could not be reached. A client representative denied a decision had been reached.

Publicis Groupe’s Fallon in Minneapolis had handled the account since 2002. The shop originally won Dyson after a review. Fallon and Dyson representatives have characterized the split as a “mutual decision” [Adweek Online, June 3].

The U.K.-based client has its U.S. headquarters in Chicago.

Ads from Fallon have featured company founder James Dyson discussing his inspiration for inventing the world’s first vacuum that “doesn’t lose suction.”
