With coffee breaks to keep them going, account management professionals spent a whole day discussing ways to improve their standing. The conference, hosted by the American Association of Advertising Agencies and Adweek, was held Sept. 28 at New York University’s Kimmel Center. The focus turned to account management’s evolving role in agencies. Adweek editor Alison Fahey and Marian Salzman, evp, director of strategic content, JWT, presented findings from a JWT industry survey that revealed account management has lost some of its prestige. In addition, attendees examined ways to diversify business and build on relations within their own agencies and with clients.
