Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota has selected three finalists for its 10-year, $80-110 million anti-smoking program, said Jan Apple, the consultant running the review.

Moving on are BBDO and Car michael Lynch, both in Minneapolis, and Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, Miami, Apple said. Arnold, San Francisco; BVK, Milwaukee; and Ground Zero, Marina del Rey, Calif., were cut.

CL is BCBS Minnesota’s agency, while the other contenders both have previous anti-smoking experience.

The effort at hand is expected to address smoking-related illnesses, such as heart disease and cancer, while also pushing the no-smoking message, sources said.

The three finalists have been given an assignment and presentations are scheduled for the second week of July, Apple said.
