2 Dallas Agencies Duel for Broadlane

DALLAS The Point Group and GroupBaronet have advanced to the finals in a review for Broadlane’s $1 million account, the client said.

The two Dallas agencies will make presentations to the San Francisco-based Broadlane at its Dallas office during the first week of March, according to David McAdam, head of client marketing and communications.

Gary Stevenson of Marketing/Communications Consulting in Austin, Texas, is overseeing the review.

Six agencies contended in the semifinals. The four shops eliminated were Hybrid, Levenson & Hill, The Loomis Agency and Slingshot, all in Dallas, sources said.

The client, a subsidiary of hospital chain Tenet Healthcare, advises medical organizations on cost savings. Broadlane also operates a business-to-business exchange that links clients with suppliers.

Broadlane is seeking an agency to handle business-to-business communications through direct mail, collateral and the Internet.

The client did not have any media expenditures in the past two years, according to CMR.
