$100 Mil. UPS Media Shifts to Martin Agency

ATLANTA Interpublic Group is moving the $100 million national broadcast media buying account for UPS to The Martin Agency from Lowe.

The move was not unexpected, said Lowe representative Hollie Geren. “It’s a realignment,” she said. “It’s all very amicable.”

Richmond, Va.-based Martin already handles creative duties for UPS. Moving the media buying to the shop “streamlines” the account, Geren said.

Elissa Goldman, director of media services at New York-based Lowe, will begin working at Martin in June. Lowe already has begun the search for Goldman’s replacement.

“We’re happy the client wanted her to remain with the account,” Geren said. The account comprises less than 1 percent of Lowe’s total revenue, she added.

Susan Rosenberg, a UPS rep, confirmed that the move was initiated by IPG. “We are pleased with what Lowe has done over the years and we trust IPG’s decision to move the account,” Rosenberg said.

Martin could not immediately be reached for comment.
