Univision Hit with $2 Million Lawsuit over Purchase of The Onion

If Univision goes ahead and sells off The Onion, its ownership of the satirical website will have been short-lived. Nevertheless, one financial advisory firm wants to be paid. GCA Advisors has filed suit against Univision in New York. (THR / THR, Esq.)

“As a direct and proximate result of The Onion‘s breach of the Agreement, Plaintiff has suffered damages, in an amount to be determined at trial, but not less than $2,000,000, and prejudgment interest,” said attorneys at Liddle & Robinson LLP in an Aug. 10 jury trial seeking filing in New York Supreme Court against Univision Communications and The Onion.
