Snapchat Developing ‘Stories Everywhere’ to Push Content Outside App, Grow Users

Snapchat is developing a new product called “Stories Everywhere” with a goal of making Snapchat Stories available outside the app for the first time and kickstarting the app’s stagnant user growth, according to a person familiar with the matter. (Cheddar)

Stories Everywhere will allow third-party publishers to embed Snapchat content on their websites. (Variety)

This month, Snap hired Rahul Chopra, former CEO of Storyful, an agency that sources and verifies content on the web, to lead the charge. One of Chopra’s plans may include the future roll-out of a web player, according to the anonymous source speaking with Cheddar. (Mashable)

Since going public in February, Snap has had to deal with stagnate user growth and declining revenue, and the company suffered an abysmal third quarter this year as disappointing figures in both those departments sent shares into a dive. (The Verge)
