Just one week after Verizon struck a new five-year deal with the NFL under which the wireless provider lost its smartphone exclusivity for the first time since 2010, one NFL broadcaster has already stepped in to snap up mobile rights for itself. (Adweek)

NBCUniversal has acquired rights from the NFL to stream Sunday Night Football through NBC’s TV Everywhere offering to mobile phones for the first time, beginning with the 2018 season. (Deadline)

The agreement also leads to something you might not be quite so thrilled about: ads. When you stream through any of NBC’s apps and websites, you’ll get both national and local affiliate promos. (Engadget)

Sunday Night Football was the most-watched regularly scheduled prime-time TV program this year, beating out last year’s winner, The Big Bang Theory.
