Impressive Streaming Figures Give NBC Olympics Optimism for Future

Livestreaming and the use of digital platforms was and will continue to be a big theme for NBC’s Olympics coverage going forward, particularly when it comes to targeting millennials. Nearly 50 million viewers streamed 3.4 billion minutes of NBC’s Rio coverage on web, mobile and connected devices, with more than half of those viewers under 35, NBC’s research found. (Adweek)

Data provided to SocialTimes by Brandwatch shows that, among top athletes at the Games, 25 percent of the social mentions were about Usain Bolt and 24 percent about Michael Phelps. American gymnast Simone Biles accounted for 11 percent of the social chatter. (SocialTimes)
