The New York Times said on Wednesday that Glenn Thrush, one of the paper’s most prominent political reporters, would remain suspended until late January and then be removed from the team covering the White House after he faced allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior. (NYT)
Executive editor Dean Baquet said in a memo to staff that Thrush, 50, “behaved in ways that we do not condone” and “acted offensively,” but that the reporter did not deserve to be fired. Baquet said Thrush would “receive training designed to improve his workplace conduct” and noted that he was already undergoing counseling for substance abuse. (Politico)

The allegations against Thrush were published by Vox in an article by former Politico editor Laura McGann, who said Thrush put his hand on her thigh and kissed her after sliding into a booth at a watering hole in Rosslyn, Va. five years ago. (New York Post)
