Facebook Testing Ads on Messenger Home Screen

Those ads have to go somewhere, and now, for a small test group of users in Australia and Thailand, “somewhere” is the home screen on Facebook Messenger. (SocialTimes)

The ads appear below users’ recent conversations, similar to how the platform might remind them of someone’s birthday. In a blog post announcing the news, Facebook product manager Eddie Zhang said users won’t see ads within conversations unless they click on them and start conversations with brands. (Adweek)
