WPP Reports 8.7% Organic Decline in Q3

WPP Group today said its revenue in organic terms fell 8.7 percent during the third quarter to $3.319 billion, compared to the same period a year ago. The U.K.-based holding company noted that the 8.7 percent decrease was an improvement on the 10.5 percent organic dip it suffered in Q2, and said, "Overall conditions are less worse, reflecting no Armageddon" for the marketing communications industry. It's Official: IPG Combines Deutsch and Lowe

Interpublic Group today confirmed that it is combining Deutsch with Lowe Worldwide, with the domestic-only Deutsch becoming the North American "hub" of the global agency network. The firms will share management and profit and loss responsibilities in what is in effect a merger of global and domestic shops. The combined operation will have an estimated annual revenue of $600 million and employ 8,000 staffers at 74 offices, including Lowe affiliates, per sources. Read Full Article
