Mediaweek Announces its 2008 Media Plan of the Year Awards
— Entry Deadline Extended to March 21; Don’t Miss the Chance
to Enter and Win the $10,000 Grand Prize!—
NEW YORK, NY (March 17, 2008)—Mediaweek announced today the call-for-entries for its 15th annual Media Plan of the Year Awards, which recognizes the year’s best media plans in twelve categories. The entry deadline has been extended until March 21 and submissions can be made at www.mediaplanoftheyear.com. The 2008 Best Media Plan of the Year winners will be determined by a distinguished panel of industry experts and honored at an awards reception held at The Rainbow Room in New York City on June 18. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 at the exclusive awards luncheon, to be attended by over 300 of today’s top media, marketing and advertising professionals.
“Creating an innovative, effective and valuable media plan is a terrific feat in today’s crowded media landscape,” said Michael Bürgi, editor-in-chief and associate publisher, Mediaweek. “We toast those visionaries who break the boundaries of traditional campaigns and redefine the way media reaches and affects its valued customer.”
2008 Best Media Plan of the Year Awards’ Categories:
  • Best plan for a campaign spending more than $25 million
  • Best plan for a campaign spending between $10 million and $25 million
  • Best plan for a campaign spending less than $10 million
  • Best plan for a campaign spending $1 million or less
  • Best use of National TV and/or Cable
  • Best use of Local TV and/or Cable
  • Best use of Radio
  • Best use of Print
  • Best use of Out-of-Home
  • Best use of Digital
  • Best use of Mobile Media
  • Best use of Non-Traditional Media
Previous Media Plan of the Year winners include: Universal McCann – Sony Pictures Entertainment; Starcom USA – Kellogg’s; Digitas LLC – Cingular Wireless; OMD – McDonald’s; Weiden & Kennedy – Starbucks Coffee Company; Horizon Media – NBC Universal.
The contest is open to all U.S. advertising agency media departments, media buying services, in-house advertisings agencies or media departments. All submitted media plans must be (or have been) under execution between February 23, 2007 and March 3, 2008.
