| NEW YORK, NY (January 15, 2008) — Mediaweek, a Nielsen Business Media publication, has introduced several editorial additions that ensure it is providing information that matters most to its audience. The new features include a fresh, upfront perspective of magazine coverage by senior editor Lucia Moses, an updated “Magazine Monitor” chart analysis section; and the return of the popular “Market Profiles” section. |
| “We are consistently listening to readers and monitoring audience behavior,” says Michael Bürgi, editor-in chief/associate publisher, Mediaweek. “The new content and section shifts represent what readers want, delivering even more relevant data and industry news in today’s fast paced environment.” |
| The return of the “Market Profiles” section provides a data-rich snapshot of the local media landscape by senior editor Katy Bachman, who will chronicle the top 25 markets in random order. The section will run biweekly. |
| The “Magazine Monitor” section, which tracks ad pages for over 200 consumer titles, has regrouped its charts according to magazine category. This change maintains consistency with the current grouping of magazines on newsstands by subject, rather than frequency. “Magazine Monitor” data is compiled by associate editor Will Levith and will be available online at www.mediaweek.com. |
| Keeping pace with industry changes, Mediaweek will migrate the content of the magazine news section into the larger news well with all other media. Now readers can find Lucia Moses’ insightful magazine coverage throughout the front-of-the-book, while her analysis of marketplace conditions will accompany “Magazine Monitor.” |
| “Publishing companies have morphed into media companies,” explains Bürgi. “It felt natural for our magazine coverage to evolve along with the industry and our audience by becoming integrated throughout Mediaweek, rather than remaining housed in a separate section in the back of the publication.” |
