M/W Wins Hoover

May 11, 2007

CHICAGO Omnicom Group's Martin/Williams has won lead agency duties on TTI Floor Care's Hoover vacuum products after a review, the shop has confirmed.

The business had previously been handled by Omnicom's TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif.

The assignment for Minneapolis-based M/W includes strategic planning, creative development and new-product introductions.

Hoover spent approximately $40 million in advertising last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence.

"Hoover is an iconic American brand with a clear competitive difference. We're ecstatic to have the opportunity to help move this beloved brand forward with our partners at TTI," said agency CEO, CCO Tom Moudry, in a statement.

TTI acquired the brand from Whirlpool in January of this year. The company's portfolio of brands includes Dirt Devil and Royal.

The win is the second of note for M/W this year. In March, the shop added Cellular South's $10-20 million account following a review.
