Double Stuf Oreo "Office Challenge"

Brand: Oreo Cookies
Agency: DraftFCB
Review Date: August 31, 2009

What's more disturbing, Donald Trump challenging Eli and Peyton Manning to a "lick race," or seeing "Double Trump?" In this Draftfcb spot introducing Golden Double Stuf Oreo cookies, Trump tells the reigning champions of Oreo Double Stuf Racing about his rejected bid to buy the league. Not willing to be defeated, Trump challenges the pair to a lick race. The football players try to deflate the Don's confidence and point out the fact that he has no playing partner. Trump presses a hidden button on his desk and a wall behind him spins around to reveal SNL comedian Darrell Hammond outfitted as the business mogul. Will the suits beat the athletes, or will the league remain open to all Oreo fans? The drama continues through the end of the year and culminates with a live "lick-off" event in January. --Eleftheria Parpis

I like Oreos, but this ad insults my intel. 1/5 for Trump, also for unclear msg; a 3rd grader would do better. I agree w/prev posters- what a waste of $$ and not using talented creatives.

an exercise in how to waste lots of money, incorporate celebrity who is a terrible match with the product, confuse the market and encourage your customers to buy something else. haven't seen a highly produced but appalling ad in quite a while.

This is what happens when Direct Marketing shops attempt to do mainstream advertising.

wow. just when you thought nobody would ever be dumb enough to drag Trump out again and attach him to something he has no real connection to and that doesn't make any sense for him or the product, well....what the hell is the point of this?!

What? I thought the point of advertising was to communicate . . . something, anything. And what is a DSRL, or a DRSL, or a SLRD? And what's more, who cares? I suppose I can piece together what it probably means after the fact, but it makes my brain hurt. Who are the people approving and making these ads, and why do they have jobs when tons of talented people are out of work?

draft/fcb has to be the very worst agency on the face of the earth. ok, there may be a direct mail shop in east dubuque that's worse, but as far as major agencies go they are clearly a big dumb suckhole of mediocrity. almost everything they do seems like it was created back in 1975 and recently dusted off for a presentation to the client.
