4 Finalists Prep for Home Depot

NEW YORK The four finalists in The Home Depot's $580 million creative review are slated to make final presentations to client executives this week, sources said. The meetings will take place at Home Depot's headquarters in Atlanta. Contending for the business are WPP Group's JWT in New York, Interpublic Group's Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston, Omnicom Group's GSD&M Idea City in Austin, Texas, and the incumbent, independent shop The Richards Group in Dallas. [Adweek Online, Oct. 8]. Select Resources International in Santa Monica, Calif., is the search consultant. . . . Last Tuesday was the deadline for participating holding companies to respond to a request for proposals in Hewlett-Packard's global review of creative and media duties on its Technology Solutions Group business. Revenue on the business-to-business account is estimated at more than $100 million. The creative piece includes traditional advertising, direct marketing, search-engine marketing and interactive duties. Sources identified the holding companies as Interpublic, WPP, Omnicom, Publicis Groupe and Havas. [Adweek Online, Oct. 23]. The participants now await a cut, which is expected within the next week. Ark Advisors in Playa del Rey, Calif., is managing the process.
