Zoom Expands Digital Gyms Net

Firm forges key alliances to extend its reach in Midwestern and Southern markets

Dec 4, 2009

- Katy Bachman

Zoom Media & Marketing has increased the distribution of its digital media network in health and fitness clubs.

The company has forged exclusive distribution deals with Urban Active and Club One. With the additions, Zoom's ClubCom digital network fortifies its regional reach in the Midwest and South via Urban Active's 33 outlets and in California via Club One's 19 venues.

Since acquiring ClubCom last year, Zoom has aggressively worked to expand ClubCom's digital media network for fitness outlets. In September, Zoom's ClubCom added Sport & Health, the largest health club operator in the Washington, D.C. area, followed by a deal in October with Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness, an operator of health clubs in the Northeast.

"We're applying the cinema model to build a strong national footprint that will attract national advertisers," said Dennis Roche, president of Zoom's U.S. business.

In total, Zoom's ClubCom division has grown its digital media network to 1,400 locations.
