Kohler's Global Media in Play

Feb 4, 2008

- Gregory Solman

LOS ANGELES Kohler is conducting a global media review, according to sources.

Select Resources International, Santa Monica, Calif., is leading the search, per sources. The review is currently in the long-list stage with a decision expected by April.

Publicis Groupe's Starcom Mediavest, Chicago, has handled media on the U.S. portion of the business. That office could not be immediately reached, and the client and SRI did not return calls.

Kohler intends to consolidate the entire global media business as it pursues world economies in the midst of building booms, per sources.

Creative, handled by Omnicom's GSD&M Idea City, Austin, Tex., is not in play. GSD&M runs its own media division, but will not pursue the media, according to sources.

The client in Kohler, Wisc., spends about $60 million annually in domestic measured media, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus. Global spending was not immediately available.
