Karo Rises at OMDAs president of integrated accounts, she will lead Apple and NissanApril 24, 2008 NEW YORK OMD today said Monica Karo has been elevated to president of integrated accounts at OMD USA from her previous position as managing director of OMD West. In this newly created role, Karo will lead the Apple and Nissan accounts and continue to report directly to Page Thompson, CEO of OMD North America. For now, Karo will also continue to oversee all West Coast business, although the shop is seeking her successor in that role. She will remain based in Los Angeles and continues to be a member of the firm's U.S. operating council. "As our clients' businesses evolve, it has become critical to expand our integrated account servicing and to focus on our clients' needs on a global basis," said Thompson. "For Apple and Nissan, the U.S. holds the largest portion of their international business and there's no question that Monica, with her expertise and experience with these brands, is the perfect person for the job." The creation of this role is part of OMD's corporate restructuring to ensure the most effective and customized servicing of accounts in an ever-changing media and consumer landscape. A leader in the media industry for more than 25 years, Karo joined OMD at its inception in 2002 from TBWA\Chiat\Day, where she had been chief media officer.
