Warner TV Hires Digital Sales Chief

NEW YORK Warner Bros. Television Group has tapped Peter Wright as svp and general sales manager for digital media sales, a new position.

Wright will oversee domestic advertiser sales efforts for broadband and digital, as well as broker Internet and mobile ad sales deals that focus on all content from WBTG's television production entities and Studio 2.0, its digital shop. Burbank, Calif.-based Wright will manage the entire digital media sales team, which is split between Burbank and New York.

Regarding the creation of Wright's position, Bruce Rosenblum, president, said: "As our digital initiatives expand and complement our core television business strengths, we will continue to work closely with our advertising partners to develop new, strategic multiplatform opportunities. We are confident that Peter will quickly contribute to the growth of our digital ad sales footprint and will creatively identify engaging and interesting opportunities for our partners."

Wright's team will collaborate with the TV media sales team to create a cross-platform approach. He reports to Michael Teicher, evp, media sales at WBTG.

Prior to his new post, Wright was vp, ad sales and business development for social networking site Reunion.com. He also was vp of search advertising sales for Ask.com and held sales positions for Excite@Home, Alladvantage.com, Yahoo and The Graffiti Group.
