MySpace Latino will provide video, IM platforms and hosting capabilities to SBS.

NEW YORK Spanish Broadcasting System's TV and radio properties are joining forces with MySpace Latino to launch a promotional campaign aimed at drawing 1 million Hispanics to the social networking site.

The push to create a wide Hispanic community of online users is titled "Queremos un millon de amigos" ("We want a million friends") and will air via SBS owned and operated Mega TV and 21 radio stations and their respective Web portals. The goal is to attract Hispanics to MySpaceLatino.com, a bilingual site launched April 8 by Fox Interactive Media as part of its social networking hub MySpace.com.

Under the partnership, MySpace Latino will provide a networking community -- including video, IM platforms and hosting capabilities -- to SBS, as well as a venue for promoting SBS programming and artists. It will also provide links to the Hispanic network's shows.

One of eight preset communities within the MySpace Latino site isEnterate, www.myspace.com/enterate, which will offer entertainment news, fashion, videos and interviews via content provided by SBS' Web portal, LaMusica.com, per SBS.

"This strategic alliance will continue to strengthen our online presence and enhance the user experience of our growing audience," said Cynthia Hudson, SBS' chief creative officer and evp, managing director, Mega TV and SBS Interactive. "This exciting partnership will help us to better integrate our media properties, enabling us to interact even more with our audience and fans."

Users of MySpace Latino will be able to interact with Mega TV artist and personalities.
