Rita Rodriguez, former CEO of The Brand Union, has joined Imagination as CEO of the Americas, the company said today.

She is based in Imagination's New York office of the London-based design and communications firm, which employs 50 staffers in the U.S.

Combined with the recent appointment in September of Josh Rogers as Imagination's new cd for the Americas, Rodriguez' hire further strengthens Imagination's growing U.S. team, the agency said.

"The agency's roots in experiential marketing have never been more relevant," Rodriguez said in a statement. "I'm delighted to join this talented team as we continue to deliver meaningful brand experiences for our clients and their customers."

She reports to Imagination managing director Paul MacKay.

She served at Brand Union since 2004, joining from the corporate branding unit of Interbrand, where she was a managing director. Earlier, she held posts at ad shop Merkley Newman Harty and telecom giant AT&T.

Key Imagination clients include Aston Martin, Guinness, OneWorld Alliance, Disney, Ford, Johnson & Johnson, Goldman Sachs, Shell and Samsung.
